Fertility Enhancing Laparoscopic Surgeries / Surgeries for blocked fallopian tubes
We have the largest experience of treating blocked fallopian tubes in Delhi including North India. IVF is not the sole answer to all the blocked fallopian tubes. Most the blocked fallopian tubes can be opened/ cleared with laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgeries and chances of getting pregnancy after this surgery is up to 80% by natural intercourse &/or IUI.
Sometimes the fallopian tubes are open but they are not helping in fertilisation because of altered tubo-ovarian relationship. This situation can be well corrected by laparoscopic tubal microsurgery. Proximal tubal block/ cornual block can be cleared easily by hysteroscopic tubal canulation and has got a very high success rate for getting natural pregnancy.
When the fallopian tubes are blocked at the fimbrial end and there is a resulting hydrosalpinx the tubes can be opened by fimbrioplasty or neosalpingostomy depending on the severity of damage. However severely damaged tubes with gross hydrosalpinx are not with good prognosis and needs clipping or disconnection from the uterus for successful pregnancy. With bilateral gross hydrosalpinx tubal clipping of both the tubes followed by IVF is the preferred mode of treatment.
